I am privileged to be a part of a group of amazing instructors that teach classes on birth, baby care, and breastfeeding preparation at Blossom Birth in Palo Alto. The birth classes range from one day intensives (6 hours) to three day childbirth prep (total of 12 hours), to eight weeks of in depth preparation and practice. The breastfeeding and baby care classes are between 3-4 hours in length. There are also classes to prepare for VBAC, and 4 hour labor practice where we focus on the comfort measures used during labor and birth (specific movements, massage points, and figuring out what works for your body).
I deeply believe that it is important for parents to take classes outside of the hospital environment, especially if they desire really practical labor rehearsal and would like a more personalized approach where there is time to ask questions and get small group setting care. I know from personal experience as well as from countless families that I've supported -- Blossom is a place of community and connection. It goes far beyond these initial classes. It was an invaluable place for me through my pregnancies, and I love seeing new families find the same love, support, friendship, and education. Please see the full list of upcoming classes here:
I look forward to seeing you in class!
